Organic Chemistry and Chemical Biology Chemical Signaling Between Organisms
The Meijler group studies all aspects of chemical communication between species - in particular between bacteria and other organisms - using a combination of organic and analytical chemistry, microbiology, biochemistry and whatever discipline is required to try and answer some of the most fundamental questions of life. Openings:
Students looking to pursue an M.Sc./Ph.D. degree with emphasis on Organic Chemistry and/or Chemical Biology / Chemical Microbiology are encouraged to apply. Experience in Organic Synthesis is desired, and a strong interest in the use of Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Microbiology to study chemical and biological phenomena is required. Tremendous curiosity and courage are mandatory.
